Source Templates within DOCS

Review, compare and/or Incorporate section updates made from the original template source.

Understanding the Source Template Option

The Source Template option appears when a section has been imported from another project or template (the "Source").

When the Source Has Been Updated

If the original source template has been updated, you will see:

  • Two options to incorporate changes
  • One option to ignore the update

Green Check Drop-Down Options

Select the Green Check drop-down to choose how to handle the update:

Option 1: Overwrite and Incorporate

Select "Mark this update as Incorporated" and overwrite the section.

  • This will overwrite all data within the section.
  • All updates from the source template will be imported.
  • It is recommended to use the comparison tabs to review changes before accepting.

Option 2: Manually Incorporate

Select "Mark this update as Incorporated" without overwriting.

  • Use this when you want to apply updates manually.
  • After reviewing and updating content, mark the section as Incorporated.

Ignore the Update

Select the Ignore icon (red) to disable the incorporating options and ignore the source update.
