Work Packages allow you to focus on specific groups of tasks and schedule them independently. This keeps your timeline structured and makes complex project planning easier to manage.
Step 1: Create a Work Package
- Go to the Scope module.
- Use filters to focus on the exact group of tasks you want to schedule. You can filter by:
- Milestones
- Task folders
- Teams
- Examples:
- Filter by a specific discipline scope, such as Architectural, Structural, or MEP Coordination.
- Create a package for non-element task groups, such as Project Tasks or your MIDP Scope.
- After applying the correct filters, save them as a Work Package. This creates a reusable bundle of tasks that you can manage and schedule together.
Step 2: Switch to the Timeline
- Select the Work Package you created.
- Switch to the Timeline view.
- The timeline will display only the scopes, tasks, or milestones included in that Work Package.
Step 3: Schedule and Adjust
- Drag the start and end dates directly on the timeline.
- Set dependencies by connecting one task node to another.
- Adjust task order to maintain a clear and controlled project sequence.
Export Options
When scheduling is complete, you can share or move your data into other tools.
- Export to PDF - Share a clean schedule snapshot with your team or stakeholders.
- Export to Excel - Continue scheduling or reporting in external platforms if needed.
Why use Work Packages for scheduling
- Schedule scopes such as Arch Coordination or MIDP independently.
