RACI Survival Kit

From RACI to results.

Connect responsibilities to the work your teams plan, agree and deliver.

Use this three-stage guide to move from a separate responsibility table to a workflow your project team can follow.

TL;DR: This kit follows up the Surviving the RACI webinar. Work through six steps in your own project - assign roles and review content, agree a signed contract with each team, then track delivery evidence - and tick each one off as you go.

Each step links to its demonstration in the recording, so you can jump straight to the part you need.

Three stages to put it into practice

Change how the team works

3 stages, 6 steps

Start with the tasks already in your Scope delivery plan. The webinar adds RACI roles to that same work, then connects document reviews, team agreements and delivery evidence.

Follow the three stages below in your project, and tick each step when it's done.

Stage 1 of 3

Accountable

Assign roles. Review document sections.

Step 1 - Assign roles to the existing work
  • In Scope, open the tasks in your delivery plan. Assign the accountable team and the responsible team member - the demo uses the architect and Akos.
  • Use Quick Assign to reuse that team-and-person combination across the relevant tasks. Add Consulted and Informed roles where needed.
  • Use the role charts and filters to find gaps or multiple assignments, and isolate each person's work. Switch to the timeline to check dates and dependencies.

Step 2 - Review the content with the team
  • In Docs, open the relevant section. Select text to suggest an edit or add a comment, then review the suggestions and accept or reject them.
  • Assign the people who need to review it. Share the section, notify them and set a review period or date - the demo uses five days, with automatic publication at the deadline.
  • Use Review changes to see accepted changes since your previous view, and the read indicators to check who has seen the content.

What you should have: Roles are assigned to the planned work, gaps are visible, and document reviews have a deadline.

Stage 2 of 3

Agreed

Create team contracts. Collect signatures.

Step 3 - Create a contract for each team
  • Open Export and choose to create a contract. Select the team, add the signers and set the signature deadline.
  • Select Create and request signatures. The package is filtered for that team and brings together the relevant content, RACI matrix and timeline.

Step 4 - Collect signatures and keep the record
  • Find the generated contract in File Manager. Signers receive an email link to review and sign; check the signature status on the contract.
  • When an updated contract is needed, create a new version of the existing contract, as shown in the demo.

What you should have: Each team receives its filtered contract, with signature status and versions kept in File Manager.

Stage 3 of 3

Evidenced

Track deliveries. Explore the assistant preview.

Step 5 - Track requested and delivered files
  • Compare requested versus delivered files. Open a task to see which requested documents have arrived and which are still outstanding.
  • Upload files to the task, batch-upload them through File Manager, or synchronize through a configured CDE connection. Check the linked delivery record for who delivered the file and when.
  • Use the interactive project dashboard charts to investigate status. Clicking a chart takes you to the corresponding filtered view.

Step 6 - Ask about responsibility gaps
  • Open the project assistant in the chat panel and ask "Are there any responsibility gaps?" Specify the milestone - the demo uses preconstruction.
  • Read the response and check the evidence it refers to.
Webinar preview: the project assistant was shown as an upcoming beta. If it isn't available in your project yet, use the role filters and dashboards from the earlier steps.
Play video: Surviving the RACI, from 39:08 - ask about responsibility gaps
What you should have: Deliveries are linked to the planned work, and dashboard views show what still needs attention.
